Events in the Dark Brotherhood questline can prevent you from finishing the Thieves Guild Questline-so always do the TG first.
Events in the Main Questline can affect the War and vice versa. Many quests get screwed up that way-Missing in Action comes to mind. If you’re still out in the frozen north and growing tired of hauling dragon bones and scales back to your house in Whiterun, perhaps dynamic battles can break up a bit of the monotony.It's never a good idea to start the Civil War and then go do the Main Quest and come back. Such is the way of games as open to player agency as The Elder Scrolls games. After all the fighting was done, a leader is chosen, and then you return to fighting dragons and giants and exploring caves and that’s really it.
Unfortunately, it always seemed disconnected from your character as the overall state of the game never really changed despite which faction you sided.
It showed a deeper, and at times, personal decision that you didn’t get in the main quest. I really enjoyed the idea of battling for a free Skryrim. Seems like this mod presents lots more to test your mettle as well as your command of the Thu’um. It is completely playable as of now, but will continue to grow and evolve.
